Glitch Techs Table Read With Co-Creators and Cast of the Series

MPAC’s Hollywood Bureau will be hosting a live cast reading of scenes from two episodes of the animated series, "Glitch Techs," a diverse and entertaining adventure comedy currently airing on Netflix. Joining us will be artists from the series as well as its creators, Eric Robles and Dan Milano. Moderated by Lorraine Ali, we will also enjoy a Q&A session on the development, social content, and production of the series.

Black Muslim Narratives Panel at the WGA

The Writers Guild Association Foundation (WGA-F) in partnership with MPAC’s Hollywood Bureau and MuslimARC will be hosting a panel elevating Black Muslim Narratives with Nijla Mu’min (Writer/Director/Producer), Qasim Basir (Screenwriter/Director), Travina Springer (Actor), and additional panelists (TBA).

This panel will challenge the damaging tropes we’ve seen on screen and highlight more authentic, intersectional depictions of Black Muslim identities that are being created by incredibly talented Black Muslim screenwriters. Industry professionals and screenwriters of all backgrounds are welcome.

ACLU Summer Advocacy Program

Are you a high school or college student interested in pursuing civil liberties advocacy? The ACLU Advocacy Institute’s Summer Advocacy Program will offer hands-on experience for the next generation of social justice advocates. With panels ranging from sharing authentic narratives with our Hollywood Bureau’s Sue Obeidi, to panels on immigration featuring the Director of our DC Office, Hoda Hawa, this week-long program will provide an insightful experience to tomorrow’s change makers.
